Harborx Will be Presenting at FinovateAsia 2017 in Hong Kong
Remember the excitement of our FinDEVr London presentation in June? Well, team Harborx does it once again! We are thrilled to announce that we have been selected as presenters at FinovateAsia 2017, the prestigious fintech conference that will take place in Hong Kong on November 7-8, 2017.
FinovateAsia is a demo-based conference for innovative startups and established companies in the fields of banking and financial technology. Held in Hong Kong, the event offers an insight-packed glimpse into the future of money via a fast-paced, intimate, and unique format. Team Harborx is preparing to present its innovative app to the Asian fintech community and share the experience of building a state-of-the-art trading environment and integrating it with dynamic social and gamification features.
‘We are excited to showcase our technology and latest innovative features in Hong Kong, – says Harborx Co-Founder Cyrus Wen, who will be joining Harborx team’s presentation at FinovateAsia. – With a big part of our team being based here, Hong Kong is our home, and we look forward to sharing the Harborx app and technology with the fintech community.
‘We had a great time at FinDEVr London in June, but with the new features we’ve been working since then, it feels years ago! Our user base has grown all over the world, and Harborx has come a long way over the past few months, not to mention years. So presenting in Hong Kong feels like homecoming in a way, and we’re working hard on the app enhancements before the presentation,’– says Harborx CTO David Sung.
Why Are We So Excited About Hong Kong?
Not only is Hong Kong an exciting place and a hub for technology and hot startups, but it’s also our home, where half of Harborx team is based. What’s more, our brand name and logo are a tribute to Hong Kong. ‘Harborx’ is a reference to the Hong Kong harbor, and “X” stands for currency exchange.
The Harborx logo with triangles has multiple meanings. Besides the intertwining ‘H’ and ‘X’ letters, the triangles are a reference to the Hong Kong skyline and its iconic buildings. Furthermore, the logo also represents Tangram, a Chinese dissection puzzle which was invented in China and later brought to Europe by trading ships. Just like Tangram, Harborx is a smart game, brought to the Western World from Asia and is all about trading while having fun.
