Live Account Validation: Why and How
When you upgrade to a Live account, you are immediately asked to complete account validation (sometimes also referred to as account verification) process. It includes submitting your valid ID and the proof of residence, along with completing a short questionnaire, within 14 days of your Live Account registration. Now, the question you may have is ‘Why does a mobile app need so much of my personal info?’
Why do we do this?
This is a valid question, and we’re happy to explain. Harborx is not just a mobile app. While we strive for intuitiveness and convenience of a simple mobile app, we remain an EU-regulated investment firm. As a licensed broker, we are legally bound to abide the regulations of CySec (Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission, which is a regulatory body for financial services in the European Union). Account validation process is required for clients of all CySec regulated bodies.
For you as a client, validation process means that Harborx is a licensed firm that takes legal requirements seriously. We are committed to anti-money laundering and fraud prevention policies, as well as protection of our clients’ funds.
Validation is Simple
Validating your Live account is simple and only takes seconds. You can submit the photo of your personal ID and the proof of address (any recent utility bill, rental contract, etc. that clearly shows your residence address) directly through the app. Simply go to your Account and follow instructions. This process is absolutely secure, and your personal data remains protected at all times. Once you have submitted your documents, you will be receiving in-app Inbox notifications informing you of your account status.
